Warm Front

The Warm Front Scheme is a Government run initiative to help the most vunrable people in society get better insulation and heating systems installed in their homes. The scheme has been running since 2000 and allows funds of up to £6000 to help those in need.

Warm front isn’t like the Green Deal as the Green deal is going to work on a loan based system and the Warm Front is based on people meeting certain criteria. i.e:

  • Eligibility: private sector households on certain income-related benefits living in a poorly insulated property and/or without a working central heating system.

If you know anyone in this situation there is still money available for improving their situation. There is more information available on the www.direct.gov.uk/warmfront or by calling 0800 316 2805. There is also information on the DECC blog.

One Response to Warm Front

  1. We actually help people apply for grants via the Warm Front scheme and are one of the scheme’s accredited installers. It is certainly a brilliant idea and very much needed, especially to ensure that the vulnerable don’t suffer from fuel poverty.
