A recent report by Door Stop International has highlighted that there are 19 million doors that could be replaced via the Green Deal. Exterior doors have been highlighted as the 3rd most effective measures to have installed under the Green Deals ‘Golden Rule’, which looks at how quickly the measure is repaid via the energy saving it achieves.  The report exposes that the exterior doors of your home or business can be one of the easiest ways to save on your energy bills.

This report is a good illustration that sadly gets over looked when reviewing the Green Deal as a whole: Insulation is the first and most effective way to reduce energy consumption. There are pages and pages written about solar panels and the great savings that can be achieved, but the humble door is something that can be looked at when considering any energy saving measures.
