Chris Huhne, Energy secretary resigns over speeding charges.

Chris Huhne the current Energy Secretary who is in charge of the Green Deal resigned today over police charges he perverted the course of justice over a 2003 speeding incident in Essex.

Chris Huhne was an Oxford educated MP who was previously an MEP and twice challenged for the Lib Dem leadership. Both times Hunhe lost to Nick Clegg, the current Lib Dem leader and deputy prime minister.

Chis Huhne was know in his younger years as a “phenomenal lothario” according to a school friend. Mr Huhne has had a successful business career before entering politics he also worked as an economic commentator for a number of newspapers.

Chris was a driving force behind the Green Deal (no pun intended) and it will be interested in finding out who is his replacement and if they have the same vision for launching the Green Deal.
