Using the power of the sun might sound like a joke in the UK but as technology advances, even in Northern Europe we can harness the power of the sun to heat water.

The basic idea behind Thermal Solar Power, is to heat water through a series of evacuated tubes that are fixed to the roof of your property. These tubes lead into a cylinder that keeps the water hot for when it’s needed. There are very few parts involved in the whole system and so maintaining the system is easy, making it one of the cheapest and easiest ways to heat water. The efficiency rating of heating water this way is over 90%, making it hard to beat.
