Anyone living in a rural area (Home owner)and requires benefit tested ECO (via HHCRO) is being ignored. Providers and Installers are concentrating on high concentration areas i.e. Towns and Cities.
One Provider in my area showed some interest but required me to purchase a new assessment because, they said, that some national software was not working and they could not access my EPC. I offered to email them a copy but apparently that was not good enough!
Not a Green Deal, rather a Brick Wall!

Comment on Got the Green Deal Assessment…. What now?? by Claire James http://www.greendealinitiative.co.uk/2013/05/got-the-green-deal-assessment-what-now/#comment-2394 Claire James Fri, 10 May 2013 12:45:23 +0000 http://www.greendealinitiative.co.uk/?p=4978#comment-2394 Hi, I am not at all surprised by the price you have been quoted for by British Gas. We are Green Deal Approved Installers and a family run business, we are quoting customers much less than this, I think that you need to get prices from at least two other installers before making your decision. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, Regards Claire.

We would suggest that you get in touch with the Green Deal Ombudsman and see if you can get some support. http://www.greendealinitiative.co.uk/2013/04/the-green-deal-orb-and-the-green-deal-ombudsman/

Please let us know how you get on and if you need any further advice?

Comment on Got the Green Deal Assessment…. What now?? by S. Friday http://www.greendealinitiative.co.uk/2013/05/got-the-green-deal-assessment-what-now/#comment-2303 S. Friday Thu, 02 May 2013 20:05:45 +0000 http://www.greendealinitiative.co.uk/?p=4978#comment-2303 We spent £99 on a green Deal Assessment as suggested by British Gas.
We had a new boiler fitted ( uses more gas than the 25 year old one) the loft insulation and the double glazing was OK. The Green Deal Assessor recommended NOT having cavity wall insulation as the house is on the coast and the insulation may cause damp (we don’t have any at the moment).
Now it seems we will not be paid until it has been done ( our pensions won’t stretch much further).
Wish we had’nt bothered with any of it.
What a big con.
NOT happy.
S. Friday
